Day 005 - First Sunday in Vancouver

Lazy Sunday is what we’ll call today.  We slept in for most of the morning after going to bed super late.  Marc was up all night editing photos from yesterday and finishing up yesterday’s blog entry.  Which brings me to my first point.  Blogging is a lot of work!  So I thought I’d get started early today.
Since we arrived, we’ve been noticing what’s different here compared to back home, here are a few of the things I can remember:

1.     Green lights flash at traffic lights
2.     Jumpers are called hoodies or sweaters
3.     Cars will stop and let you cross anywhere in the street.
4.  Stores stay open really late, even on Sundays...
5.     Canadians are generally nice people.  Its exactly how Robyn describes it in “How I Met Your Mother”, you can bump into them and they’ll apologise to you and offer you a donut… SOOOOO TRUE!!!!

One thing we haven’t mentioned yet is that  we’ve been looking for a car to buy which has proven to be much harder than expected.  Most cars for sale are out of the city, so looks like we’ll have to hire a car to go look at cars to buy ANNOYING!

We had the chance to get to know Kevin and Patrick better over the weekend which has been really fun.  Today we went to the camera store with Patrick as he is looking for a new camera.  We showed them our photos from yesterday and Patrick was hooked. Here is a photo of Marc with Kevin and Patrick and their dog Tuby:

At the front of the place we've been calling home for the last few days, so lovely!

The walk to the camera store was fun, we discovered a part of town we hadn’t been to before and I found a “candy store” where they sell toffee apples, check out the photos:

Dia, I know your love for Chocolate... so I'm sure you'll appreciate this.

Lindy, is this the store you were telling me about on Robson street??  Yum

Patrick took us to a burrito place for lunch called Steamrollers, which is kind of the equivalent to Salsas at Robina, YUM!

Anyway, Marc has completely geeked out with his new Go Pro camera we got today, he’s like a kid on Christmas Day!  So here are some shots:

Marc trying to figure out how to work his new toy.... hehehe

Marc told me it was recording, instead he took a lovely mug shot! Thanks Marc!

Tomorrow Kevin is taking us to the Aquarium before it opens so we have free access to the different areas we want to photograph.  We’ll be able to test out our new Macro Lens!!!
Sammy ;-)
