Day 013 - Bye Bye Vancouver

Rainy and miserable was the weather today.  Probably because it was our last day in Vancouver.  The weather has been so good for us the entire time we've been here.

To everyone back home, there is something that we take for granted in Australia.  The fact that GST is inclusive of the listed price.  You have no idea how frustrating it has been here to get to the cash register and be charged over 12% more than we expected.  It's not just the fact that they have not only 1 but 2 different taxes on top of the marked price, we also have to bloody TIP!!!!  We looked it up and it's suppose to be 15 - 20% of the total price that we are meant to tip....  So a $39.90 purchase ends up being $54 out of your pocket!!!  We can't get used to that, it's driving us crazy!  We just want to know how much something is before we make the decision to buy it and not be surprised at the time of paying.....

Anyway, like I said, it was a miserable day today so hence the ranting.  We are very excited about our upcoming adventure on Vancouver Island.  Not sure when we're get internet access next but we will find a cafe somewhere I'm sure.

We are going to miss Vancouver and all the great days we had here.  I have to say it's by far my favourite city (not including the Gold Coast ofcourse).  We found everything here very friendly and it didn't take us long to feel comfortable in this beautiful city that is Vancouver!

• Awesome food at Madina Cafe (Breakfast), Go Fish (Lunch), Rogue (Dinner)
• Grouse Mountain
• Roof Top Movie Night (was freezing!!!, so much for a pool party)

So thanks Vancouver and to everyone we met along the way, its been a great "first act" to our Canadian Adventure!!!
