Day 052 & 53 - Out and about looking for wildlife

Marc and I decided to make the most of our day off together, so we went for a drive around to get some shots of the beautiful yellow leaves.  It was a nice and warm afternoon, although the temperature can drop very quickly when the sun hides behind the cloudes.

We stopped on the side of the road to photograph the train tracks and mountains near Canmore.

Autumn has officially started, lovely colours of of green yellow and orange...

Marc spotted some rocky mountain sheep on the side of the road, so we turned around and came back to get some shots.  They are so cute!

Cutie little baby!

Here is a shot that Marc took and made into HDRI.

After going back home for lunch we decided to make our way to find a moose or two.  We didn't have any luck last time we went there but thought we'd give it a try and see our luck....

This is a cave Marc photographed high uo on the side of a mountain.

As soon as we pulled into the area, we spotted them in the mud whole.

It wasn't just one moose, there was 4 females and a baby.... we still had to find the big bull...

I was so excited to finally see a moose, but I really wanted a shot of a bull with his big antlers.  A guy who was there told us he saw a moose further up, so we waited for a while.  Finally I saw one in the distance.  He was very far, but I still managed to get a few shots.

Little did I know that he wasn't the biggest bull in the area, I saw a bigger one run up to this one and they disappeared behind the bushes.

So Marc took the camera and went to take some close ups of the cow and her baby.

Another cutie little baby moose this time.

This is how close they came to us, didn't seem to worried about us being there.

Finally Marc spotted the big cheeky bull in the distance again...

Unfortunately we lost the sun light and he was still a fair distance away so our shots are not very good but we thought we'd show you the big antlers anyway.

Had a great time exploring the area and finding some wildlife.  Next we'll get some photos of Canmore and the surrounding area.
