Day 072, 073, 074 - Missing home

There is so much going on back home at the moment, its been making us feel a little home sick.  Babies being born, birthdays and warm weather are all things that are making us miss home.

We just found out that our godson Sebastian has finally arrived after putting his parents through 2 days of labour.  Don’t know the full details yet but we want to say a HUGE congratulations to Flanny and Jared on the birth of their beautiful baby boy!  Sebastian’s not the only one born this month, our friends Tanya and Wayne had their 3rd baby 2 weeks ago, gorgeous little Wil.

Missing home doesn’t mean we don't love living in the Rockies, because every day is pretty spectacular here.  I absolutely love walking to and from work, Canmore is such a lovely little town.  Everything is simple and small and the people are all relaxed and down to earth.
We went out for a few drinks with my boss and co-worker last night.  It was fun to go out and listen to music, we even got Marc to dance!  One thing I have to mention is playing pool in Canada is completely different than back home.  None of the rules are the same!!!

1.     If you sink a ball on the break, it doesn’t count as your ball…
2.     If you knock your opponents ball before yours or even sink it, there are no penalties such as giving them a free shot.
3.     If your opponent sinks the white ball, you just get to place it on the line, but don’t get a free shot either.
4.     The difference between the balls are called stripped or full.

Just thought I’d mention that for anyone who wants to play pool in Canada!
We had a great time, Marc got pretty drunk and passed out on the couch when we got home.  Poor thing woke up with a hangover this morning and had to go to work at 6.15 am!

On a weather note, it rained last night and we got our first hit of snow.

The sun riseses after 7 around here behind this mountain, this was the view this morning.

Later in the morning I saw this on our balcony.  First time we got snow in town!

Mum is arriving in 4 days and I can’t wait to show her around.  I’m planning on taking her to Lake Louise, Banff, Vermillion Lakes, and hopefully do a few hikes as well.
I’ll be working every day until she gets here so hopefully we can get some updates out to you soon.  Check out the cute little pumpkins I got to decorate the gallery window:

That's it for now!!!

Sammy ;-)
