Day 022, 023 & 024 - Miracle Beach, Ucluelet & Tofino

Day 022 - Miracle Beach
We did nothing, absolutely nothing, we spent most of the day at Starbucks blogging and emailing etc.
We waited for ages to catch the Ferry back from Quadra Island. The Ferry there is small so we arrived at 9:30 and could only get on the 11:30 boat. After the 4 hr Starbucks episode we drove to Miracle Beach for the 3rd time and set up Camp.

You can't really call us campers as we eat out all the time, drive around and watch Entourge and Tosh.0 on the laptop in our tent. Luxury campers maybe.... :)

Oh and I came up with a genius plan to protect our heads from bear attack. ( our camp site was littered with water melon, baby carrots and used loo paper so I was expecting mid night guests for sure) so the plan was, park the car as close to the tent as possible and our heads would go closest to the car . I could live with eaten off feet.

Sammy say's I'm stupid but aleast I get a full night sleep that way....

(a few nights back camping I left out marinara Pasta for 3 hours and slept with chewing gum and dried friut in our pockets so we're learning slowly with camping in bear country)

Day 023 - Ucluelet, a miserable little town

People don't get me wrong, I'm sure Ucluelet is beautiful and from what we saw of the hike there is to do along the ocean line, it looks really beautiful.  But the day we got there, it was miserable!  The locals say "what do you expect, its a rainforest".  We've just been very lucky with awesome sunny weather so we're just not used to it.  I think we're going to get a rude shock when winter starts to hit us, especially me!!!  Some of the friends we've made here tell us that you apparently have to plug in your car overnight to warm the engine.... CRAZY!  Our car doesn't have that because we bought it in Vancouver and it doesn't get that cold there, but in Alberta we will need one....

Anyway so after another great night camping at Miracle beach, we hit the road for Ucluelet, which we thought was a little closer than it actually was.  3 1/2 hours later, driving through winding narrow road, we got to our hostel which for once we can't say we felt very welcome. I know not all Canadians are perfect!!!  The only room we had was in an all girls dorm room, it wasn't as bad as the guy made it out to be, he was a bit of a tool.

Here are some photos of our time in Ucluelet:

Sammy got cranky when I pointed out this sign to her, She doesn't believe me when I say
 "Honey, They will KILLLL you!"

Day 024 - Tofino a mini Byron Bay

So Tofino is the surfy capital of Vancouver.  The only beach with waves apparently.  Not really impressive to us I guess coming from the Gold Coast, but we still had a nice relaxing day on the beach.  We also found a salmon deli place and got to tast a bunch of differently smoked salmon.

Awesome Breakky

Sam was obsessed with "Maple Glazed Smoked Salmon Chunks"

The host here was crazy, we asked "So how long have you worked here" he replyed
"TOO FUCKING LONG !"

At first he was super scary and told us about guest's he made cry by being mean, but after chatting for abit he warmed up to us and asked how our meal was. Hostel work does not seem fun at all, seems to send people crazy.
